Before

How to prepare

  1. Let the hair grow to about a quarter inch, roughly two to three weeks after your last shave.
  2. 24 hours before, exfoliate the area with an exfoliation glove or dry brush for 2 to 3 minutes, then moisturize.
  3. Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of. Skip caffeine the day of your appointment.
  4. Stop any AHAs or BHAs (retinol, Retin-A, tretinoin, glycolic or salicylic acids) a week before. They thin the skin and can cause tearing or bruising.
  5. If you are currently on Accutane, we cannot wax you.
  6. Skip lotions, oils and deodorant on the area the day of. Shower before you come in if you can; wipes are in the room either way.
  7. If you are sensitive, take an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before.

After

Aftercare

  1. No hot tubs, saunas, pools or heavy workouts for 24 hours.
  2. Wear loose, breathable clothing home. Cotton over anything synthetic.
  3. Keep the area clean and dry for the rest of the day. No lotions with fragrance.
  4. Start gentle exfoliation two to three days later and keep it up a few times a week.
  5. Use your ingrown serum or spray daily between visits.
  6. Rebook for four weeks out to stay on cycle. Hair comes back finer and sparser each time.
