Before

How to prepare

  1. Let hair grow to about a quarter inch, usually two to three weeks.
  2. 24 hours before, exfoliate with an exfoliation glove or dry brush for 2 to 3 minutes, then moisturize.
  3. Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of. Skip caffeine the day of your appointment.
  4. Stop any AHAs or BHAs (retinol, tretinoin, glycolic or salicylic acids) on the area a week before. No Accutane.
  5. No lotion, oil or deodorant on the areas the day of.
  6. Avoid sun and tanning for 48 hours before, and wear loose clothing you can easily take on and off.

After

Aftercare

  1. No hot showers, hot tubs, pools or gym for 24 hours.
  2. No sun or tanning on the area for 48 hours, then SPF.
  3. Loose, breathable clothing for the rest of the day.
  4. Exfoliate two to three times a week starting on day three.
  5. Moisturize daily with something fragrance-free.
  6. Rebook every four weeks.
