Do I need to put a card on file or pay a deposit?

A valid credit card is required on file when you book online, and your first appointment requires a deposit. Once you are a recurring client, no deposit is taken.

How long does my hair need to be?

About a quarter of an inch, roughly two to three weeks of growth. If it is shorter than that the wax has nothing to grab.

How often should I come in?

Every four weeks keeps you on cycle. Consistent appointments mean less hair, less discomfort and fewer ingrowns over time.

Can I get waxed on my period?

Yes, as long as you are wearing a tampon or a cup. You may be a little more sensitive than usual.

Can I get waxed while pregnant?

Yes, in most cases. Waxing is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but your skin can be more sensitive than usual, so let us know when you book and we will take extra care and go at your pace. If you have any concerns, check with your doctor first.

What should I do before my appointment?

Exfoliate the area 24 hours before with a glove or dry brush and moisturize after. Drink plenty of water the day before and day of, and skip caffeine the day of. Stop any AHAs or BHAs, including retinol, tretinoin, glycolic and salicylic acids, a week before. If you are currently on Accutane we cannot wax you.

How to prepare for your wax

Exfoliate

24 hours before your appointment, use an exfoliation glove or dry brush to exfoliate the area. This is important so that you are getting rid of dead skin buildup. Lightly scrub 2 to 3 minutes and make sure you moisturize after.

Hydrate

Make sure you drink plenty of water the day before and day of your appointment. Drinking water before your appointment softens your skin and keeps it plump, which aids in a better waxing experience. Try to stay away from any caffeine the day of your appointment.

Stop AHAs and BHAs

If you use any AHAs or BHAs, including retinol, Retin-A, tretinoin, glycolic or salicylic acids, please stop use a week prior to your appointment. These products thin your skin and may cause tearing or bruising while waxing. If you are a current user of Accutane you will not be able to wax.

Booking & Cancellations

Pink Crab Wax Bar is by appointment only. We do not accept walk-ins, but you are welcome to contact us for a same-day appointment.

Card on File & Deposits

A valid credit card is required on file when you book online, and for your first appointment you will be required to pay a deposit. Once you are a recurring client, a deposit will no longer be taken.

Cancellations & No-Shows

If you need to cancel, it needs to be done before 24 hours of your appointment time. If you cancel within 24 hours or you are a no call, no show, you will be charged a same-day cancellation fee of 50% of your service total. If you are 15 minutes late it will be considered a no show and you will be charged accordingly. It is in place to protect us, as we cannot fill appointment slots same day. We know things happen, so please keep an open and honest line of communication with us.

Intimate Waxing

Brazilian, bikini, butt strip and full moon services are offered to women only. Men are welcome for face and body waxing, including brows, chest, back, stomach, arms, legs and underarms.

Guests

We do not allow extra guests in the treatment room during wax appointments. We work in a small room and move around frequently. If you do need to bring a guest along, we have a comfy bench right outside the treatment room for them to wait on.

All forms and waivers need to be completed before you walk in the door. They are emailed to you before your appointment time, so please fill them out before you arrive.
